Fileglow

File manager for Android

Your files in the colours of your launcher.

With Hyprtile or Phosphor as your home screen, Fileglow takes the theme you use there: tiles with gradient borders with Hyprtile, a glowing terminal with Phosphor. Change the theme in the launcher and your files follow.

Internal storage

Example folders to tap through. Open DCIM, then Camera, to see how a folder of photos opens: placeholder tiles while it is read, a soft preview of each photo, then the sharp picture.

Everything a file manager should do

Find a file fast, move it safely, and take back a mistake. Then make it look like the rest of your phone.

    Home

    • Your storage at a glance: how much is used and how much is free.
    • What fills it: photos, videos, audio, documents, downloads and app files, counted from Android's own index so Home opens at once.
    • Recent photos, videos and PDFs.
    • Jumps: the folders you open most, one tap away. Pin your own too.

    Browsing

    • A list or a grid for each folder, sorted by name, date, size or type, and remembered per folder.
    • Columns on a tablet or a phone on its side: the folder above, the folder you are in, and a preview.
    • Previews of photos, videos, PDFs, music tags, app files, text and code, and what is inside a zip.
    • Jump box: type a few letters of a folder's name and go.
    • Hidden files on or off, folders first or mixed in.

    Safe file jobs

    • Copy, cut and paste, with the original dates kept on every copy.
    • Undo the last job: a move, a rename, a trash.
    • A trash on every volume, kept 7, 30 or 90 days, with put back. Deleting for good always asks.
    • A move you cancel never loses the original, and a copy that fails half way cleans up after itself.
    • Zip and unzip. Unzip stops before it fills your storage.

    Many files at once

    • Long press or the Select button to pick, then select all.
    • Rename many files at once: one name a line, or find and replace.
    • Open with another app, or copy a file's path.
    • New folders and new text files.

    Network shares, with Pro

    • Your SMB (Windows and NAS), SFTP and FTP shares as folders, with the same copy, move, trash and preview as on the phone.
    • A Try it button checks a share before you save it.
    • Passwords are encrypted with a key kept in Android's keystore. An SFTP server's key is remembered the first time, and a changed key is refused.
    • Pro is one optional purchase on top. The app you buy is complete without it.

One look, from home screen to files

Fileglow sits beside the Hyprtile and Phosphor launchers and the Keyglow keyboard.

    With Hyprtile

Tiles with gaps and gradient borders in the colours of your Hyprtile rice, from hyper to tokyo night, with the pictures between the cards.

    With Phosphor

A terminal with glowing text on true black, in the Phosphor theme you picked, from amber to matrix to paper.

    On its own

No launcher of ours? Pick a ready look, or one of 84 themes by hand.

No ads, no account, no tracking. Your files stay yours.

Fileglow needs All files access to browse, copy, move and delete files across your storage, and it uses it for that only. It goes online only for the network shares you add with Pro and for the Google Play purchase. No analytics, no crash reports, nothing sent to us.

    Questions

Why does it ask for All files access?

A file manager has to see and change files in every folder, not only its own. Android grants that through All files access. Fileglow asks once, on the first screen, and uses it only to show and work on your files when you ask it to.

Do I need Phosphor or Hyprtile?

No. Without them, pick a ready look or any of the 84 themes in Fileglow's settings. With one of them as your home screen, Fileglow follows its theme by itself.

    What does Pro add?

Network shares: SMB, SFTP and FTP. Everything on the phone works without it. Pro is one purchase, not a subscription.

    I deleted something by mistake.

Open the trash from Home or the menu and tap Put back. Right after a job, Undo in the note at the bottom takes it back too.

A folder of thousands of photos?

It opens at once. Placeholder tiles show while the folder is read, each photo gets a soft preview, then the sharp one, using the thumbnails Android already keeps when it has them.

    What does it cost?

2.49 USD or EUR, paid once on Google Play, and 1.99 in many countries. No subscription and no ads. Pro is an optional extra.

    Does it work with TalkBack?

Yes. Every row has a spoken label, touch targets are at least 48 dp, and everything fits at 200% text size.

    Get it on Google Play
